This past week in Rome? Bulgari?s home city? the brand unveiled its newest timepiece destined to become a pillar collection for the brand. Called Octo after the larger Bulgari/Gerald Genta Octo complicated watches, the new line features a slim-downed case and classical three-hands with date functions. It is offered in rose gold and in steel and houses a Bulgari caliber.
Amidst much fanfare at a press conference in the Complesso Monumentale Santo Spirito in Sassio(a true Roman historical building), Fracesco Trapani, President of LVMH Watch & Jewelry Division, joined Michael Burke, Bulgari CEO and Guido Terreni, managing director of Bulgari?s Watch Business Unit, for the unveiling of the special timepiece.
?The Bulgari Octo represents everything about Rome that i fell in love with,?? said Burke. ?Rome is a city of opposites, of history and modernity. The project for Octo was a quest of beauty that would capture the DNA of Bulgari.?
Indeed, the watch is a harmonious blend of octagon and circle ? two ever-important architectural designs in Rome. The concept, said Terreni, was to reflect Roman influences and its eternal values. The manufacture movement? features a twin barrel and offers 50 hours of power reserve. The rose gold version features a black polished lacquer dial and black ceramic crown. It is slated to arrive in retail stores later this fall.
